Cooking Conditions

Every weekend, families gather up and make their way to restaurants. Then they order steaks, hamburger, seafood, pho, rice, tacos, and etc. They talk with each other, and finish the food in one hour. They enjoy the food not realizing how the food was really made. No one really knows what they have eaten. In fact, you can find all different things that are somewhat surprising. In the kitchen of the restaurant, there are cockroaches, flies, mouse, ants, and other different species.

Last summer, I worked at a Korean restaurant. The restaurant was very famous in terms of the number of costumers and the taste of the food. I worked 3 days per week, Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, for 6 hours per day. I was just a waiter who knew nothing about the real stuff. It was a Monday night when the incident happened. I was about to serve the side dishes to costumers. In order to serve the side dishes, I had to walk into the kitchen because the side dishes were placed on a small table inside the kitchen. So I went into the kitchen and then I got busted by a black object that crept along the floor. I could not believe my eyes. I told the chef that there is a huge cockroach that is creeping on the floor. Then his answer was simple, “Don’t worry about it.” I am not being rude to Korean restaurants and there are many other places that have poor cooking conditions. For some places, I can see some flies flying all around the restaurant and sitting on my precious food. It is a nightmare. While working at the Korean restaurant, I’ve also learned that the inspectors, who sort of points out the problems of the restaurant, are irresponsible towards their jobs. One of the inspectors that I saw was totally a bomb. He did not spend much of the time for really look inside the kitchen. He just looked around for couple minutes and walked out.

What should we do in order to have a healthier food? We can prove to the inspecting companies to see what the reality of the inspections is and make them to find some alternations. Also we can sue the restaurant where serves the filthy foods to costumers. However the best choice is not going to the restaurants. Make your own healthy food and enjoy with your family.

The Gumz

Gum is something that we carry all the time. We can buy a whole pack of the gums for 99 cents at mostly every stores or markets such as liquor stores and Walmart. Every day in life, I chew gums for many different reasons. I chew it because it keeps my mouth clean and gets rid of the bad smells of my mouth. But in reality, the gums cause some damages to our body.

The gum was well known to the public from a guy named, Thomas Adams. He patented a machine for producing the gum. Adams produced the gums that are almost the same as the ones that we chew now days. By 1888, Adams’s Tutii-Frutti became the first chewing gum to be sold in vending machines. These gums were spherical shape. In 1928, Walter Diemer successfully invented red colored bubble gum. Most of the gums are produced based on these previous inventions and now we are able to chew these gums whenever and where ever we want. As we chew gums, we can get rid of the terrible smells of our mouth, we can also be more concentrated because the brain becomes more active, and we can decrease the heart rates when we are under nervousness or pressure. However there are bad results that we can get from chewing the gums. First of all, the gum makes a face into a square shape. Since chewing requires the jaws to move up and down, it develops the jaw muscles and makes the muscles to project out of the surface. So then the face becomes like a square shape. Second of all, the sugar in the gum decays the teeth. According to the researches, we discovered that the gum decays a tooth faster than candy bar.

From now on, we should avoid chewing gums. Chewing for 5 minutes is allowable, but chewing more than an hour is unbeneficial. Get a habit of brushing teeth rather than chewing gums, do some teeth flossing, and keep your teeth safe from gums.

What is Tofu?

Couple weeks ago, I found myself having some headaches. I went to the hospital right away and figured out that the headache happened, because I ate too much fast food which led to high cholesterols. I noticed that in this society, we have pretty high chance to be contacted with the fast foods or greasy food. Fast foods or greasy foods can lead to many diseases which can eventually make anyone die. So I decided to change my eating habits and get over with the high cholesterols.

Last Sunday, I’ve got a call from my friend. He told me to meet up for a dinner. After seeing each other, he led me to this old place called, Kaju-Tofu restaurant. The place was very old and had some antique decorations inside the restaurant. This restaurant was very famous because they served Tofus, a healthy food that is made only with the white beans. I found out that according to the researches, the Tofu prevents obesity, hypertension, cancer, and high cholesterols. It was first made from in China 2000 years ago and spread throughout countries such as Korea and Japan. It was also known as the ‘beef from the ground’ because the beans were grown from the ground. Also the Tofu has an awesome taste that fascinates the people. It was only about $8.50 and had a better taste than any other fast foods. Also there were about 10 different types of tofu: beef, seafood, kimchi, fork, etc.

After having the Tofus at Kaju-Tofu restaurant, I had a feeling that I could be healthier by eating Tofu regularly. And this is not just me. This may sounds funny, but I have feeling that everyone should be eating Tofus regularly in order to prevent diseases. I wonder what would happen if I die from eating too much fast foods. It would be like a joke. Dying from eating too much fast food? Let it not be happened. Since you know something about the Tofus, move yourself to a Tofu restaurant. It is not a bad experience.
